Teddy Bear
Welcome to the Teddy Bear Room!
The infant room is very different from any other room in the center. We follow individual schedules and strive to meet the needs of each child. We practice a “safe sleep environment.” We do not use loose bedding, bumper pads or stuffed toys in the infant’s crib. The infant’s crib is labeled with his/her name and we do not share cribs at any time. If for any reason parents prefer stomach sleeping, an alternative sleep position waiver must be filled out by your child’s physician and returned to the center.
We practice “Tummy Time” daily. Babies need to build strength in their neck, head, and shoulder muscles. We listen to various types of music throughout the day as part of our daily routine. We stay very busy throughout the day with a large variety of activities. We sing, chat, read books, and use a large variety of manipulatives. We also go out for walks several times a day (weather permitting).
When you come into our room, you should notice that our room is a “shoe free zone.” This is for the well-being of all the children. Adults are the only ones that should enter the infant room. This helps reduce the spread of germs and keeps all of our babies safe. We also request that you wash your hands upon entering the room.
We always welcome “check-in calls” to see how the little one is doing and answer any questions you may have. The phone number for our classroom is 215-345-5877, ext. 285.
We look forward to a fun and exciting year watching your little one grow and develop!
