Kinderfun
Welcome to the new school year! This is an exciting time for your child, although he/she may be a little apprehensive about going to “real” school. This is also a time of mixed emotions for parents---joy that your child is ready for school, but sadness because he/she is no longer the “baby”! The first day of school will mark one of the most important milestones in your child’s life.
I will do my best to make this school year an enjoyable time for your child and also a time filled with real learning. Please do not think that your child is “playing” all day! The skills we practice in Kinderfun are the building blocks for your child’s future success in school and life!
Tabor Kinderfun is an enrichment program. Kinderfun is NOT meant to replace kindergarten. Kindergarten is a very important transitional year for your child. It is a time for them to get to know their school peers. It has been my experience that children who don’t attend kindergarten in their home schools have a much harder time and really struggle in first grade.
My name is Corrine. I have been teaching for 13 years and this is my 6th year teaching kindergarten. I graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Along with teaching at Tabor, I work at Bridge Valley Elementary School in the Before School Program.
Please review the ABC’s of Kinderfun, our kindergarten handbook, which will tell you everything you’ve always wanted to know (and more!) about our classroom policies and procedures. You may want to reference this throughout the school year.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your child. If you have any questions or concerns, you may call me at school (ext. 287).
Sincerely,
Miss Corrine
